Nasdaq's composite index and S&P 500 continue on the winning track, with increases on all trading days this week. At the close on Thursday, the former index had increased by 1.0 percent, while S&P 500 had risen by 0.8 percent. Even the industrially weighted Dow Jones continues to rise, closing at a plus of 0.6 percent.
Several of the major technology companies' shares saw a good development during the day. Microsoft increased by 0.9 percent, while the semiconductor company Nvidia followed up Wednesday's giant leap upwards by increasing by 1.9 percent.
Google owner Alphabet has been in a period characterized by declines since last summer. On Thursday, however, the share increased by 2.2 percent.
It went worse for the pharmaceutical company Moderna, which lost as much as 12.4 percent. Nor did the industry colleague Pfizer have a particularly good trading day, with a loss of 1.7 percent.
