What was previously just rumors is now completely official.
On September 4 in Zurich, two of the biggest athletics stars will clash in a 100-meter race.
Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis and Norwegian 400-meter hurdler Karsten Warholm.
I'm super excited. I've rarely looked forward to a competition as much as this, said Duplantis to Aftonbladet when it first started to be whispered about the duel.
The race will take place in connection with a Diamond League gala in the Swiss city the day after, on September 5.
Duplantis has just returned from a successful Olympic Games, where both gold and a new world record were won. But for Karsten Warholm, the championship was not quite as successful. The Norwegian sprint star missed the Olympic gold on 400 meters hurdles and had to settle for a silver medal.
