A police chase ended with a collision between four cars on the E4 highway near Södertälje, according to the police. Four people, a family with two children, have been taken to hospital for examination.

Some bruising could be observed, but no serious injuries were visible. However, the children were small and upset, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl to TT.

It was around 4 pm on Tuesday when the police were alerted about an assault in Solna, where the suspected perpetrator fled in a car.

One of the police patrols called to Solna spotted the wanted car on the highway, near Fittja, and initiated a chase – which ended in a collision at the Moraberg traffic intersection.

The man, who is in his 30s, has been arrested on suspicion of assault, gross negligence in traffic, aggravated drunk driving, and causing bodily harm.

Then I cannot rule out that additional charges may be added, especially when we gain better knowledge of the underlying incident, says Wikdahl.

The crashed cars have been towed away, and since 5:40 pm, traffic on the highway has resumed.
