The gondola lift at Idre Fjäll got stuck at lunchtime on Monday. The people on board the gondolas had to be evacuated, reports TV4 News.
According to the police, who had a patrol on site, it concerns 25-30 people who were stuck in the lift. There are no reports of injuries.
The evacuated people were to be taken to a sports hall to warm up. The work has proceeded without us having to assist, says police spokesperson Gabriel Henning to TT.
A man who witnessed the rescue operation estimates that it lasted for a couple of hours.
They have guys who come sliding down on the cable itself and climb up onto the roof. They put some kind of lifting device on people and lift them down one by one, says the man to TV4.
