A 35-year-old man has died after a canoeing accident in Uddjaure outside Arjeplog, reports P4 Norrbotten. He was airlifted to hospital on Thursday evening.
The man is from Germany, according to the police. Next of kin have been informed.
In total, there were seven people out canoeing. The deceased man was the guide in the group.
For unknown reasons, some members of the group ended up in the water, and the guide then went into the water to look for belongings. In connection with this, the man drowned, says Patrik Åström at the police in Region North, to the radio.
