The Norwegian running brothers Ingebrigtsen broke with their father and coach Gjert a couple of years ago.
Now, middle brother Filip is leaving the national team and will focus more on helping his younger brother Jakob with his training. Additionally, he will get a role in the Norwegian athletics federation.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen is a world record holder on 1,500 meters and a double Olympic Games gold medalist. This summer, he won the 5,000 meters in Paris.
"I will continue my career. But I am also realistic. I have struggled with injuries and haven't delivered results that justify a spot on the national team. Therefore, it's natural to give more time to helping Jakob", says Filip Ingebrigtsen in a press release.
