After an investigation, the National Board of Health and Welfare notes, among other things, that there is a lack of basis for several costs, that the municipality's reporting has not been transparent, and that several activities do not fulfill the purpose of the grant.
"Deficiencies in the management harm not only the confidence in laws and regulations but also affect children and young people in vulnerable areas who need significant efforts," says the National Board of Health and Welfare's Director-General Björn Eriksson in a press release.
Last autumn, Ekot revealed that the municipality had used parts of the grant for, among other things, a New York trip and a marketing plan, which was later scrapped. An external investigation has directed scathing criticism at deficiencies within the municipality's culture and leisure administration.
