The mining company Boliden has been hit by delays in the zinc smelter Odda, which the company has invested in since 2021 to increase the annual production rate.

The company writes in a press release that the delays are mainly due to the completion of the new roasting facility.

The delay will make the entire project 100 million euro more expensive. The work was supposed to be completed by the end of 2024, but now Boliden expects it to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
