Over two years after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company Atlas Copco announces that it intends to discontinue its Russian operations, according to Dagens Industri.

In an application to the National Board of Trade, which Dagens Industri has accessed, the company is however requesting an exemption from the export ban to Russia through its law firm.

”We have for a longer period evaluated the possibilities of discontinuing our operations in Russia, taking into account, among other things, our employees in the country and binding agreements. The application to the National Board of Trade is a part of that process and covers the part of inventory and equipment for which a license is necessary”, writes press chief Christina Malmberg Hägerstrand to the newspaper.

The group had approximately 250 employees in Russia in April 2023.
