At least six people have died and 30 are missing after a landslide swept away a motorway in Ecuador on Sunday. A further six people have been injured.
The wave of mud and debris swept down a slope and dragged three cars, two houses and a bus with it in the resort town of Baños, about three and a half hours southeast of the capital Quito.
For several days, heavy rainfall has caused major problems in Ecuador. Rivers have overflowed and several landslides have blocked or swept away entire streets. Among other things, the road connecting Ecuador's highlands with the Amazon provinces has been cut off, and a popular water park north of the capital was flooded on Sunday.
