The news that Strandhäll is leaving the Justice Committee was Altinget first to report. It is unclear whether the departure is made on her own initiative or if the party has made the decision.

Now Strandhäll writes on X that she "looks forward to rolling up her sleeves and starting to work as an ordinary member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in this security policy situation."

"It feels very important at this time and as a fantastic opportunity", she writes further.

Annika Strandhäll has been a minister in several Social Democratic-led governments and is the chairwoman of the Social Democratic Women. She has been a member of the Justice Committee since 2022.

Party colleague Heléne Björklund takes over the seat in the Justice Committee.
