In the TV documentary "Greenland's White Gold", it is claimed that Denmark has turned over 400 billion kronor from the extraction of the mineral cryolite, which is found naturally in Greenland and is used, among other things, to manufacture aluminum. The documentary claims that the Greenlandic inhabitants have not received a particularly large share of the money.

The claim that the business would have amounted to 400 billion kronor has, however, been questioned by several experts who believe that the sum is exaggerated and misleading. DR has now decided to remove the documentary and also fire the responsible editor-in-chief Thomas Falbe.

Greenland's Prime Minister Muté B Egede, however, defends the film. In a Facebook post, he writes that it contains important information about Denmark's unequal treatment of Greenland and that it is "a shame" that it has now been removed.
