49 men have been arrested in India for repeated sexual assaults against a teenager, the police announce.
According to a police investigation, the teenager has been subjected to gang rapes on at least five occasions.
The woman, now 18 years old, has stated that 60 men committed assaults against her in her home state from the time she was 13 years old. Among the accused are, among others, neighbors and friends of the family.
According to an attorney leading a local child protection committee, the teenager's parents were unaware of their daughter's "nightmare".
