At least 30 people have been killed since clans clashed and shot at each other in Papua New Guinea, the police reported on Monday.

The ongoing violence between the rival clans is taking place near Porgera, one of the country's largest gold mines, and began with an incident in August. The situation has, however, escalated since then and according to the police, around 300 shots were fired just on Sunday.
