The Snus and Match Museum is inside Gubbhyllan on the grounds of Skansen. It follows the cultural history of snus and matches in Sweden, two products that have had a major impact on the country’s history. Displays trace both from the 17th century to the present day, with rococo boxes, carved snus dogs and colorful match labels. Visitors can also learn about historical Swedish tobacco cultivation. [1][2]
Permanent and temporary exhibitions cover industrial history, design, trade and the people behind the products. Children and adults can take part in creative workshop activities inspired by matches. [2]
The museum is open Thursday to Sunday from 10:00 to 15:00. During the autumn break, it lists daily opening from 10:00 to 16:00. Admission is included in Skansen’s admission.
