Emelie Grind, Solna’s head of urban development, and Alexander Fagerlund, the city’s planning director, explain how Södra Hagalund is being planned around an extension of the metro’s green line to Arenastaden. The talk goes behind the visualisations to show how a district is designed around a station before it exists.

The site is now mostly a through-road and industrial land, according to the event page. Plans call for a square, homes and a station 45 metres underground. Solnavägen is intended to become a street where people want to spend time, and a light artwork by Pia Törnell is planned for passengers waiting for trains. The event page says the station will be nine minutes from T-Centralen without changing trains.

The one-hour talk is for people interested in how metro expansion shapes new neighbourhoods in the Stockholm region. Tickets are required. The organisers say the talk is not aimed at younger children.
