Alfons Åberg comes to the stage in a Swedish-language performance based on Gunilla Bergström’s first book about Alfons and his father. In the story, Alfons cannot fall asleep, and the evening becomes a playful adventure where imagination and everyday life meet. The production is family theatre for young children, with Alfons’s nighttime adventure at its centre. Teater Bristol’s page describes the show as a stage version of Good Night, Alfons Åberg, and says Alfons is Sweden’s most popular children’s-book character, regularly near the top of library borrowing lists. Visit Stockholm gives an approximate running time of 30 minutes and recommends the performance for children aged two and above. Teater Bristol also labels it family theatre from age two.
