Blue-and-yellow international Benjamin Nygren has had a brilliant start to the season with Celtic. The World Cup player scored a dream goal as the Scots won 3-0 at home against LASK Linz in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs.
SportsDon't be discouraged by the midsummer nightmare, Sweden. The fate of your World Cup campaign is still in your own hands. All you have to do is win the last match, and things will look good again, says forward Viktor Gyökeres.
SportsHappy Midsummer? The national team's celebration at the hotel in Dallas will probably be low-key after the crushing loss to the Netherlands. People aren't keen, Benjamin Nygren says.
SportsMicky van de Ven's careless tackle ruined most of Alexander Isak's season. Team captain Virgil van Dijk supported the Swede during the tough time. At Houston Stadium, all three shone together on Midsummer's Day.
SportsBenjamin Nygren is at the World Cup and plays behind Viktor Gyökeres and Alexander Isak. But has he chosen the right sport? The 24-year-old is the national team's - at least unofficially - most versatile athlete. "I'm just good," he says.
SportsIt's not just the atmosphere that's approaching boiling point at the World Cup. The Swedish players are struggling to keep their heads cool ahead of the match against the Netherlands. "This was absolutely the hottest training session I've ever been in," says defender Gabriel Gudmundsson.
SportsIt may look like any other corner or free kick, but don't be fooled. Most set-pieces are carefully planned and rehearsed. According to Gustaf Lagerbielke, the national team has a few variations in store for the World Cup opener against Tunisia.
SportsCeltic's dominant run in the Scottish top flight continued. Benjamin Nygren's Celtic defeated Hearts 3–1 to win their fifth consecutive league title.
SportsThe 15-year-old was supposed to get a few thousand kronor to carry out a bomb attack, but the explosive charge detonated in his hands. Afterwards, dental records were required to identify the boy. "They don't care if the person they recruit dies," says Malin Nygren, head of the National Bomb Data Center.
SwedenBombs loaded with kilograms of dynamite have caused havoc in Swedish residential areas on several occasions. But the leakage of civilian explosives has been plugged, and criminals are now finding it difficult to obtain such large bombs. Instead, gangs are using other methods.
SwedenOpinion about Viktor Gyökeres at Arsenal ranges from praise to criticism. Benjamin Nygren has a clear picture of him. "Viktor is, in my opinion, one of the best strikers in the world," he says.
SportsFourth straight loss in World Cup qualifying. Graham Potter had anything but a dream debut as national team captain. Despite the painful 1-4 loss to Switzerland, everything was not pitch black in terms of play at the Stade de Genève. But far from good enough.
SportsHalf of the regular starting eleven will be missing when Graham Potter makes his debut as national team captain. So who will get a chance from kick-off against Switzerland at the Stade de Genève?
