In the 86th minute of the match, one of Glasgow's teams, Rangers or Celtic, looked set to miss out on the league title for the first time since 1985.
The scoreboard then read 1–1, which would be enough for Hearts' first league title in 66 years.
But the story was too good to be true.
Celtic pressed for a goal throughout the second half. Finally, Hearts could not hold on, and Japanese Daizen Maeda made it 2–1 in the 87th minute.
The 3–1 goal came in the last minute of the match and the home fans stormed the pitch.
For Nygren, it was a perfect end to his first season at Celtic. The World Cup-winning Swede scored 16 league goals and was named the club's player of the year.
