The center back is one of the team's main players and a weapon in set pieces.

"My role is to try to score. I'm one of those players who steps up. Hopefully the ball hits the head," he says.

Have you been fasting a lot during your training?

Yes.

New variants coming soon?

We'll see, says Lagerbielke, who doesn't want to reveal the slightest bit about what will cause Tunisia problems in Monterrey on Monday morning, local time in Sweden.

Correctly executed actions by all players involved determine the outcome. It is not always enough to have your own perfection, there are also smart opponents in the equation.

When Lagerbielke headed in the 2-1 winner in the playoff final against Poland in the 44th minute in March, the majority of the crowd united in a huge roar that could be heard far outside the national arena in Solna.

Trained in the elevator

A goal that is as beautiful as it is important - but no coincidence.

Afterwards, Lagerbielke said that he and Benjamin Nygren had gone over how they should act several times during the day. They even practiced with an imaginary ball in the elevator.

"It was almost psychotic," the center back told Fotbollsmorgon.

Viktor Gyökere's task was to bring a defender with him, Gabriel Gudmundsson got in the way of Robert Lewandowski. In the gap that arose, Lagerbielke came running and put his head on the ball on Nygren's free kick.

The way the national team took the lead was spot on, according to both the theoretical and practical training sessions led by Andreas Georgson, the national team's set-piece manager.

Georgson a boost

"It's a boost with him. Everyone knows what they have to do. It's very clear. It makes things a lot easier. I think you felt that during the two playoff games," says Lagerbielke.

"Clarity is the most important thing, that everyone knows what they are supposed to do. Then it is also about wanting to achieve goals, to sacrifice yourself. It can look great on paper, but if you don't throw yourself in and be prepared to take a hit, it will not work."

Set pieces have become more important in top-flight football.

"There is a huge focus on quick transitions. You saw that in the Czech Republic (1-2 against South Korea on Friday). They created a lot from them. It could probably be a tool for many in this tournament."
