Any approved digital ID that proves who you are online, comparable to showing an ID card in person. BankID is by far the most common, but there are others, and the ID card Skatteverket issues has also carried an e-identification that works with a card reader.

You need an e-legitimation for most logged-in services in Sweden: Skatteverket's My Pages, Försäkringskassan, 1177, Arbetsförmedlingen, CSN and booking driving tests, among others. Without one, many things that take minutes online have to be done on paper or in person at a service centre.

When a page says you need Swedish e-identification, it means one of these approved digital IDs.
