The incident occurred outdoors at around 2 pm on Wednesday afternoon.

What has happened is that we are ordered to a location where we meet a woman who had a weapon-like object. A situation arises where the patrol on site fires live rounds at the woman, says the police's press spokesperson Sara Andersson.

The woman is suspected of grossly threatening an official, but it is still too early to say exactly why the patrol on site chose to shoot at the woman.

An investigation of this case will be conducted. In similar cases, we always contact the Special Prosecution Chamber to investigate what happened. This will also happen in this case, says the police's press spokesperson Fredrik Bratt.

The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance and is seriously injured, according to Region Kronoberg.

Immediately afterwards, we made sure that the woman received ambulance care on site. Then she was taken to hospital. She was awake and able to speak, says Bratt.
