A woman has been found dead on Tjärnö in Strömstad municipality, reports TV4 News. The alarm went out to the police and rescue services at 11 on Sunday about a medical emergency. The woman's life could not be saved.
According to the police, the circumstances surrounding the death are unclear, and an investigation into murder has therefore been initiated.
We are doing this because we cannot rule out that the woman was subjected to a crime, says police spokesperson Thomas Fuxborg to TV4.
A man was arrested at the crime scene and has since been detained by the prosecutor. Both the man and the woman are Norwegian citizens in middle age. They are said to have had some kind of relationship with each other, according to the police.
