Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder respectively following two shootings in Eskilstuna, reports P4 Sörmland.
The two shootings occurred with less than a day's interval at the end of August. First, a 35-year-old man was shot to death in the Årby district, and the morning after, a man in his 20s was shot and injured in a stairwell in the Lagersberg district.
One person is arrested on probable cause suspected of both the murder in Årby and the attempted murder in Lagersberg, says prosecutor Miona Green to Eskilstuna-Kuriren.
And then there is one person who is arrested for the attempted murder in Lagersberg. The latter person is also arrested for two additional counts of aggravated drug offenses and aggravated weapons offenses.
The district court has decided to keep further information about the arrested persons confidential. After the shootings, the police decided to introduce two so-called security zones in Eskilstuna.
