The Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump declines the latest invitation to a new debate between him and rival Kamala Harris, the Democrats.
It was the TV network Fox News that invited to a final debate before the presidential election, which will be held on November 5. The debate would have taken place at the end of October.
"It's very late in the process, (early) voting has already begun – there will be no rematch!", writes Trump in a post written entirely in capital letters on his own platform Truth Social.
He writes further that Harris had already backed out of an earlier debate that would have been held by Fox News, despite the Harris campaign never formally accepting the invitation.
The two candidates met in a first, and what appears to be the last, debate on September 10. Harris had also previously challenged Trump to an additional debate that would have been arranged by CNN on October 23, which he declined.
Trump, on the other hand, accepted an invitation to a debate on September 25 on NBC News, which Harris did not do.
