We have developed checklists for ongoing deadly violence. We have developed material that will strengthen members to concretely practice evacuation, lockdown, closure, and barricading in their stores, says Erik Mangen, security expert at the trade organization Svensk Handel, to the radio.

Alarm systems or armed guards are not currently an option, according to Mangen.

What we are instead seeking is a much more local police presence.

It was during lunchtime on Monday when an armed person opened fire at a restaurant in the shopping area Kungens kurva in Huddinge south of Stockholm. A man was hit and was seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.

A child under 15 years old is suspected of attempted murder and serious weapons offense.

Earlier this fall, shootings have occurred in malls in Sollentuna and Kungsbacka.
