In the fifth program of this year's "Idol", the theme was duels. The Idol contestants were divided into pairs and faced each other in five duels. The winners went straight to the next week, while the losers faced a new vote.
First to secure his place in the program was the 23-year-old Arvika resident Robin Sohlberg with a country-inspired version of Post Malone's "Wrong ones".
Robin is back, this is what you should do, said jury member Katia Mosally after the performance.
Joel Nordenberg, 21, also made it through with the Jireel song "Amen" and was praised for his performance – from an unexpected direction.
He even did it better than me. You're a star, bro, said Jireel, who was sitting in the audience, to the contestant's great surprise.
In the fifth duel, which was described in advance as the "death group", the competition was extra tough when Leo Tekiel, 22, met Margaux Flavet, 16. In the end, it was the older of the two who, despite standing ovations from the jury, was defeated.
However, his "Idol" journey was not over yet, and instead it was Lucas Schönefeld who had to leave after losing the duel to Olivia Oyemade Merenius, 23.
It's so fun to follow you because there are so many different parts, but it gets a bit too scattered, said Peg Parnevik and got support from the jury.
Next week, the competition continues for the remaining nine contestants, with YouTube profile Joakim Lundell as a guest sidekick to host Pär Lernström.
