Sweden's best municipality has been appointed – Umeå residents can consider themselves lucky. At least according to Fokus, which together with the analysis firm Infostat has ranked Sweden's municipalities based on where it is best to live.
Second on the podium is last year's winner Luleå, while the bronze medal goes to Karlstad.
Furthest down on the list, on the other hand, is Tanum, followed by Älvdalen and Vansbro.
Nine different main categories are measured and determine how the municipalities place on the list, including education, healthcare and social services, and safety.
The different categories are weighted differently, with private economy being the most important, accounting for 21 percent of the result. It measures, among other things, how many square meters of villa you can buy for an average teacher's salary in the municipality.
