The Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch believes that Sweden has a superior culture that comes from Christianity. She calls honor-related oppression "inhuman."

This is not a war of religions, this is a struggle about which values must apply to everyone.

The Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch was disturbed during her Almedalen speech by people who shouted "resign" and "murderer".

I'm quite tired of certain individuals taking the liberty to disturb others, to silence others, said Busch from the stage and was met with applause.

Several of the individuals had Palestinian flags. Busch continued to address the demonstrators.

I bring this up because we once again have people who stand and scream and make it uncomfortable for others who are here to listen to a political speech.

We are here to better understand each other, said Busch.

Coffee and Tacos

The Christian Democrat leader otherwise devoted a large part of her speech to talking about Sweden having a superior culture characterized by Christianity.

Swedish values have for too long been reduced to trivialities, she says.

Now I'm joking a bit. It's been said that everything is imported. Lucia. Coffee. Tacos.

She then went on to talk about honor-related oppression and brought up a case that has been reported in the media where a 20-year-old woman was married off to a stranger who abused and raped her.

The woman is now divorced and living under a protected identity, and the family says she is no longer their daughter because she got divorced, says Busch.

So speaks the creature of oppression. It's a mindset that doesn't belong in Sweden. It's behavior that is inhuman.

The Christian Democrat leader says that it's not enough to speak the language, have a job, or advocate for a strict migration policy, but everyone in Sweden needs to adapt to a superior culture with a Christian ethic.

This is not a war of religions, this is a struggle about which values must apply to everyone.

We cannot allow Swedes with an immigrant background to live under different values because they have a different heritage.

Billions

Busch then goes on to talk about the need for investments in Sweden, including in railways, roads, and power grids. The Christian Democrats have previously proposed that Sweden borrows billions and that the state budget can have an annual deficit of 0.5 percent to free up resources.

Our country is underinvested and has a significant maintenance debt. Mother Svea is walking in tattered shoes.

She calls it "cheating" when the US and EU countries provide large state subsidies to companies. The investments in Sweden require a clear growth agenda, she continues.

She does not rule out loan-financing for new nuclear power.
