"Message to all Afghans living in European countries", reads the headline of a post from the Taliban's foreign ministry on X (Twitter).

In the post, a number of embassies are listed that allegedly work irregularly. Among them are embassies and consulates in the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada, Australia – as well as Norway and Sweden.

Afghanistan, according to the Taliban, "does not take responsibility" for documents such as passports and visas from these embassies. Afghans in need of help are advised to turn to one of the country's other embassies.

The extremist Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in 2021. Since then, the embassy in Sweden has not issued passports.
