Frigg was created in the spring of 2023, when gang crime escalated sharply.
During the operation, police officers were called in from the rest of the country, primarily to Stockholm, and new working methods for information sharing and case management were developed. At the same time, other police work was deprioritized.
The shutdown means that the reinforcement of police to external service from other parts of the country disappears. Instead, some police officers who have worked in internal service, for example as investigators, will now transition to external service.
The last few months, we have more or less phased out Frigg and transferred the working methods we had in Frigg to our regular operations, says Tobias Bergkvist, deputy chief of the Stockholm police region, to the radio.
