After the record number of explosions in Sweden, and especially in the Stockholm area, in January, several perpetrators have been arrested, as well as several so-called bomb makers.
The police do not know how many people there may be who manufacture and supply explosive goods to individuals who use them in criminal activities. But in recent weeks, according to the police, "more than two" have been arrested and the police have several people on their radar.
I would say it's virtually impossible to guess how many they are. We also know that the problem is constantly changing and new markets for selling criminal services are emerging, says Hampus Nygårds and continues:
So there is clearly a possibility that the problem is larger than what we see it now.
The police have been able to establish that the quality of the bombs and other explosive goods used in the explosions varies. It ranges from fireworks to commercial explosives. But all types can be dangerous.
But when you work with commercial explosives or pyrotechnics, it's harder to assess the extent of the damage, which of course increases the risks for everyone around if they use a larger charge than they intended, says Hampus Nygårds.
