The Employment Service is announcing that it needs to reduce the number of employees. The redundancy is estimated to be 228 employees, according to the authority in a press release.

Expenditures are to be reduced by half a billion kronor.

The notice primarily concerns positions within staff and support functions, and the number of employment officers will not be affected, according to the Employment Service.

"The Employment Service needs to reduce expenditures for administrative funds, i.e. funds that mainly go to personnel, by 500 million kronor in 2025 and simultaneously make tough priorities to fulfill our main task", writes the Employment Service.

The Employment Service emphasizes that a notice does not mean that all affected will actually be laid off, but rather that it should be seen as "a warning that layoffs may become necessary".
