Swedish and Norwegian defense will buy around 120 railcars together with the state-owned railway company Bane Nor.
The purpose of the cooperation is to increase the capacity to move military equipment. The railcars will, among other things, be able to be used to transport tanks.
"The agreement means a significant improvement of the capacity for military transportation on the railway in both Norway and Sweden, between the countries and to other countries in Europe", says Thor Gjermund Eriksen, CEO of Bane Nor, in a press release.
