A fire broke out on Thursday evening in an apartment in Linköping. The police have initiated a preliminary investigation regarding arson.

The crime classification is arson because an object is believed to have been thrown into the apartment where the fire started, says Angelica Forsberg, press spokesperson for the police region East.

No one is reported to have been injured in the fire, except for someone who inhaled smoke.

According to the police, the fire was limited to one apartment.

The police are on site at the residential building to gather information and hear witnesses who can move the investigation forward.

Angelica Forsberg says that there is currently no information about any threat against the residents of the house.

But it is naturally something that the investigation will look into, she says.
