The Court of Appeal increases the sentence for a man in Halland who raped a 14-year-old girl while working as a babysitter for her little brother. In the district court, he was sentenced to five years in prison, but now the sentence is increased to six years in prison, reports Hallandsposten.
The Court of Appeal finds him guilty of four child rapes, five sexual assaults against children, and five sexual harassments against the girl, who is about 25 years younger than him. The court considers it a particularly serious violation of the girl's integrity that she risked becoming pregnant as a result of the assaults.
The girl was not subjected to threats or violence by the man, but he has, according to the court, ruthlessly exploited her inability to defend herself. He was also aware of her age and that she felt unwell.
The girl is awarded damages of 380,000 kronor.
