The Japanese electronics and entertainment giant Sony is increasing its ownership in Kadokawa, a Japanese company that, among other things, owns the majority of From Software, which is behind the fantasy game "Elden Ring", reports Gamesindustry.biz.
Sony is buying more than 12 million shares, worth around 50 billion yen (3.5 billion kronor). Sony will thus become the largest owner in Kadokawa with around 10 percent of the shares. The companies will also collaborate on several projects.
Sony has previously owned 14 percent of From Software.
Earlier this year, there were reports that Sony wanted to buy the entire Kadokawa, which caused the media company's stock to surge.
