Inflation in Germany landed at 2.0 percent in July.
This can be compared to 2.0 percent in June and an average forecast of 2.0 percent, according to a compilation of forecasts made by Bloomberg.
Earlier on Thursday, France also reported an inflation figure in line with the expected 1.0 percent.
