The new tariffs will affect copper in semi-finished products but not imported refined copper, as previously thought. Which, according to Bloomberg, will spare a large part of the domestic industry from potentially higher costs.
The tariffs will also apply to copper content in products while the rest of the product may be subject to other tariff rates. However, this does not apply to vehicles, where only vehicle tariffs will still apply.
The new tariffs come into force on 1 August.
