On Wednesday afternoon, the rescue service was alerted to Forsmark's final repository after smoke development in the tunnels. On site, there were several people who had to take cover underground.
By 2:30 pm, all people were above ground and unharmed, according to UNT.
The rescue service suspects that it is a cable fire.
We have no fire, only smoke. Several people have gone into safe rooms underground, said Roger Sverndal, rescue operator at the rescue service to TT earlier in the afternoon.
Forsmark's nuclear power plant was not affected by the incident.
