"We cannot have a Wild West on the internet", urges EU parliamentarian Evin Incir (S) who is now demanding that the EU takes action against the recruitment of children for violent crimes in Sweden.
In a letter to Home Affairs Commissioner Magnus Brunner, Incir wants an action plan and to know how the Commission plans to ensure that the major tech giants take action against the recruitment of children and young people on their platforms.
The tech giants have an enormous responsibility to ensure that their "streets and squares" are free from misery. They should also have a short deadline to shut down chats, for example, where it is clear that children are being recruited into criminality, says Incir to TT.
