In Örebro County, there are several unsolved murders from the beginning of the 2000s and onwards. And it may become relevant to investigate 35-year-old Rickard Andersson for one or more of them.

In the unsolved cases, a perpetrator profile has been created, listing the murderer's likely characteristics and motives. The police are also looking at the modus operandi.

Then you have to look at Rickard Andersson's profile and (see) if it can match the current case, says Mikael Nyqvist, investigation leader at the police's cold case group in the Bergslagen region, to SVT.

There are also DNA traces from the unsolved crimes, but it is unclear whether the cold case group has the right to access Andersson's DNA.

I don't know the legal prerequisites for that. We'll have to research further into that, says Mikael Nyqvist.

In the school massacre in Örebro, ten people were killed and six were injured. Rickard Andersson then took his own life.
