One or more people are being searched for in the water between Fiskebäck and Asperö in Gothenburg's southern archipelago.
We receive information about a small boat that is moving without anyone on board and we initiate a search operation. We arrive and find the boat empty, likely someone has fallen overboard, says Fredrik Strömbäck, press communicator at the Swedish Maritime Administration to TT.
The people are now being searched for by the Swedish Maritime Administration's rescue helicopter, together with the Coast Guard and the Swedish Sea Rescue Society.
We are now searching the water area, says Fredrik Strömbäck.
In connection with the operation, the passenger ferry Rivö, which participated in the search, also ran aground.
We have evacuated Rivö. No one is injured, we have taken them to Saltholmen with the help of the Coast Guard's vessel, says flight rescue leader Jonas Brunosson to Göteborgs-Posten.
At the same time, ferry traffic in the area is being affected and several departures have been cancelled. The alarm was raised at 20.40 on Friday evening.
