The Quran burner Salwan Momika has been granted a renewed residence permit in Sweden. According to the Migration Agency, he risks being subjected to torture if he is sent back to his home country of Iraq.

The Migration Agency made a decision on a new time-limited residence permit on May 30 this year, which Aftonbladet was the first to report on.

The temporary residence permit will be extended for one year, after which his case will be reviewed again.

37-year-old Momika has been behind a large number of Quran burnings across Sweden in recent years. Several of them have led to riots and unrest.
