Two Russian-registered vessels have been circling in the Kattegat between Sweden and Denmark since Monday. The Coast Guard has alerted about the vessels, reports TV4 News.
(We) have informed the relevant authorities and the Danish Navy, says Klas Loven, command center commander at the Coast Guard to the channel.
The vessel is said to be in Danish waters, radar images are supposed to show how they have been lying and circling in a smaller area since at least Monday evening.
Since the cable breaks in the Baltic Sea, Swedish and Danish authorities have increased surveillance of vessels in the area.
In November and December, the Chinese vessel Yi Peng 3 was anchored in the Kattegat for about a month. The vessel is suspected of being involved in two destroyed data cables in the Baltic Sea that are being investigated as sabotage.
