The American restaurant chain TGI Friday’s has applied for a so-called chapter 11 procedure at a bankruptcy court in Texas, USA.

The restaurant chain, which has had economic problems for a longer period, currently has 39 restaurants on the American market. According to the chain, a dozen restaurants will remain open during the reconstruction process itself.

In the spring, the company that operates TGI Friday's in Sweden was declared bankrupt.
