Three hospitals in Lebanon announced on Friday that they have temporarily ceased their operations due to the Israeli attacks.
One of the hospitals, located near Beirut's southern suburbs, is said to have suffered significant damage due to the bombardment, reports state media in Lebanon.
According to the Israeli military (IDF), 250 members of Hezbollah have been killed in the past four days during battles in southern Lebanon. Of the deceased, 21 were commanders, writes IDF on Telegram.
Temporary burial
Hezbollah's former leader Hassan Nasrallah, who led the extremist Islamist movement for over 30 years, was killed in an Israeli bombing raid on al-Dahiya last week. Now, his remains have been taken to a temporary final rest, say sources close to the Shia militia to news agency AFP.
"Hassan Nasrallah has been temporarily buried, until circumstances permit a public funeral", it says.
At the same time, American media Axios and The New York Times report that Hashem Safieddine, Nasrallah's cousin and presumed successor, was attacked in an Israeli air raid. They rely on information from several sources.
Air raids on bunker
Massive explosions were heard in connection with the Israeli air raids with bombs on what is said to be a bunker in southern Beirut early on Friday. The shockwaves were felt far and wide in the city.
There is no confirmation as to whether the presumed successor Safieddine (sometimes spelled Safi al-Din) was on site.
Later in the day, Hezbollah announced that it had fired artillery at Israeli soldiers in the border area of Maroun al-Ras. The militia also accuses Israel of deadly attacks on rescue workers, reports AFP. IDF claims that Hezbollah has fired at least 100 projectiles at Israel on Friday.
