It is calm and quiet on the parking lot outside the large ICA store in Norsborg in Botkyrka municipality where a female employee was stabbed to death on Tuesday evening.
The store is closed, but some regular customers have still made their way there.
Some in the hope of being able to shop.
Others to try to understand what has happened.
"Violence a major problem"
It's so clearly terrible, it's completely insane, says Iris, who has lived in the area for about two years.
This is an area with a lot of crime, and even though this incident is not connected to that, it's still about violence. And that's a major problem.
Iris tells that she feels safe in Norsborg.
For me, it's calm, I've never felt unsafe. Maybe because I know that even though there are some crisis situations here, they don't affect me.
Numan, who has lived in Alby – a stone's throw away – for about 20 years, also says that he feels safe. But the attack in the grocery store scares him.
Something like this shouldn't happen, he says.
The police are often present in Norsborg, emphasizes Numan.
The police do a fantastic job, he says.
You see them every day. Both the police and security guards. They do a good job. But when something like this happens..., it's not good.
Man arrested
A 25-year-old man, seemingly unknown to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. The police have seized a knife that the perpetrator is suspected of having used and are working to try to map out the sequence of events.
We don't know yet if the knife he used came from the store or if it was brought along, says Niklas Berglund, duty officer.
