Millions of packages are having trouble reaching their destinations in Canada during the hectic Christmas month as 55,000 postal workers strike for the fourth week in a row, reports AFP.
Both the union and the postal service report that talks are being held, but they are still far apart. The pressure has also increased on the government to intervene, but so far, Labor Minister Steve MacKinnon has refused, as he believes the parties should resolve the conflict themselves.
Among the packages are Christmas gifts and Christmas cards, but also wedding dresses and a father's cremated remains, according to Canadian media. Passports and foreigners' travel documents have also been stuck during the strike, making it difficult to travel out of the country.
