A mopedist who, among other things, lacked a registration plate was stopped by the police in central Kungsbacka on Friday evening. But the driver of the moped chose to flee – with the police in pursuit, local media report.
The whole thing happened when the mopedist was confronted by the police on suspicion of traffic offense.
When they stopped the moped, the driver tried to flee. Then the police officer takes a few determined strides and catches up with this person, who doesn't stop, says Hans-Jörgen Ostler, press spokesperson for the police, to Göteborg-Posten.
The police officer is said to have been dragged a bit behind the moped before he could grab the mopedist's clothes. In connection with the incident, the police officer injured his shoulder and was taken to the hospital for a check-up.
The moped driver managed to get away, and is now suspected of violent resistance and causing bodily harm.
